Emergency plumber across Hull

Covering Newland Avenue, Beverley Road, Cottingham, Hessle and all HU postcodes

Call us on 01482 770 041

When you call us with a plumbing emergency in Hull, you'll speak to someone local who knows the difference between Princes Avenue and Spring Bank. We deploy either one of our own employed plumbers or an approved subcontractor based in or around Hull, so we're not sending someone from Leeds who's never seen your street before.

There's no call-out fee when you book with us. Our visit includes the first hour's labour, and we'll give you a fixed price before we start the work. If it's a straightforward fix, we'll sort it same visit. If it needs parts we don't carry, we'll make the area safe and come back.

Our emergency plumbers handle burst pipes, major leaks, blocked toilets that won't drain, boilers cutting out mid-winter, radiators that won't heat. We carry pipe cutters, push-fit fittings, stop taps, toilet parts, drain rods and a wet vac. Around 70% of callouts are fixed first visit.

Got questions? Here's the quick answers.

How much does an emergency plumber cost in Hull?
Our emergency callout during business hours is £85 to £120, which includes the first hour's labour. Actual repair costs depend on what's needed. A simple pipe repair might be £100, while a concealed burst pipe under floorboards can run £200 to £400. We'll quote you the full price before we start the work, so there's no surprises.
How quickly can you get to me in Hull?
We aim to have an engineer with you within 2 hours if you call during our business hours (Mon-Thurs 8.30am-6pm, Fri 9am-4pm). Jobs in the city centre around HU1 or nearby areas like Newland Avenue (HU5) are usually faster, while Bransholme or the outskirts might take a bit longer depending on traffic and engineer availability.
How long does an emergency plumbing repair take?
Most emergency repairs are sorted in an hour or two once we're on site. A burst pipe repair might take 1-2 hours if it's accessible. A blocked toilet is usually 30-40 minutes. If it's a bigger job (major leak requiring multiple pipe sections, boiler breakdown needing parts we don't carry), we'll make the area safe same visit and come back to finish the job.
Do you charge more for evenings and weekends?
Our phone lines are open Mon-Thurs 8.30am-6pm and Fri 9am-4pm. Engineers can be deployed outside phone line hours for emergencies. If you need urgent help, always call or use the contact form and we'll do our best to help you.
What should I do while waiting for the plumber?
If it's a burst pipe, turn off your water at the stop cock (usually under the kitchen sink or in a cupboard near the front door). If you can't find it, just turn off the isolation valve for that tap or appliance. Mop up standing water if it's safe to do so. If it's a leak from upstairs, move anything valuable out of the way and put towels down.
Can I try to fix it myself before you arrive?
If it's a dripping tap, you can try tightening the handle or turning off the isolation valve underneath. For a running toilet, you can lift the cistern lid and check if the float valve is stuck. But for anything involving cutting pipes, working on a boiler or dealing with gas, leave it to us. You'll make it worse, and your home insurance might not cover DIY disasters.
What if you can't fix it on the first visit?
We carry most common parts on the van, so around 70% of jobs are fixed same visit. If we need a specific part or it's a bigger job, we'll make the area safe, isolate the problem, and book a return visit. You'll only pay for the work once it's done and you're happy with it.
Do you cover Cottingham and Hessle?
Yes, we cover Cottingham (HU16) and Hessle (HU13). They're technically East Riding rather than Hull itself, but we've got engineers based nearby and we cover both areas regularly. Response times are usually within 2 hours, same as central Hull.
Is the 12-month guarantee included?
Our 12-month guarantee is included with our membership plan. If you're not a member, we'll still do a quality job and stand by our work, but the formal 12-month guarantee is a membership benefit. We can explain the plan when we're out, or you can ask about it when you call.
